By accessing our website or booking services with The Chef Nextdoor (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to the following Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.

2. Services Provided
The Chef Nextdoor offers:

Services are provided based on consultation, availability, and agreed-upon details.
3. Consultations & Booking

All services begin with a consultation booked through our website.

Service details, pricing, and scheduling are confirmed during consultation.

A booking is not confirmed until any required deposit has been received.
4. Menu Customization & Dietary Disclosure
-
Menu customization is available, including dietary preferences and restrictions.

Clients must disclose all allergies, intolerances, and dietary restrictions prior to service.

The Chef Nextdoor is not responsible for allergic reactions caused by undisclosed or inaccurately disclosed information.
5. Grocery Procurement

Grocery sourcing depends on the service selected and is confirmed during consultation.

When groceries are purchased by The Chef Nextdoor, costs may be included in or added to the service fee.

The Chef Nextdoor sources ingredients from grocery stores and suppliers where products are available and of suitable quality at the time of purchase.

Clients may request a specific grocery store; however, this request must be disclosed during the consultation and approved in advance.

We do not guarantee shopping at a specific grocery store and are not responsible for accommodating store preferences based solely on personal dislike of a particular retailer.

Requests for premium, specialty, organic, or boutique grocery stores may result in higher ingredient costs, additional sourcing time, and increased service fees. Any pricing adjustments will be communicated during the consultation or prior to purchase.

Product availability, seasonality, and supply conditions may require substitutions, which will be made at the chef’s professional discretion while maintaining the integrity of the menu.
6. Payments
In-Home Meal Preparation

Payment is due on the same day, upon completion of cooking.
Meal Delivery
-
Payment is due the day before delivery.
Private Experiences & Holiday Feasts/Dinners
-
A 50% deposit is required at booking.
-
The remaining balance is due on the day of the event.

7. Delivery Fees
-
Delivery fees apply to meal delivery services and are based on client location.

Fees are disclosed during consultation or booking.
8. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Weekly / Bi-Weekly In-Home Services
-
A minimum of 7 days’ notice is required for cancellation.
-
Cancellations within 7 days require:
-
Payment of any grocery costs already incurred, and
-
50% of the normal service fee as a late cancellation fee.

Meal Delivery
-
48+ hours before delivery: Full refund
-
24–48 hours before delivery: 50% refund
-
Less than 24 hours before delivery: No refund
Private Experiences & Holiday Feasts/Dinners

30+ days’ notice: Full refund
-
Within 30 days: 25% of the deposit retained
-
Within 14 days: Deposit retained in full
-
Within 7 days: Deposit retained and additional losses may be pursued.
Rescheduling
-
Rescheduling is subject to availability.

If rescheduling is not possible, the applicable cancellation policy applies.
9. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing:

A clean, safe, and functional kitchen
-
Working appliances necessary for service
-
Pets secured away from the cooking area
-
Proper food storage and reheating in compliance with Health Canada guidelines
10. Food Safety, Storage & Risk Transfer

Meals may be refrigerated following Health Canada guidelines.

Meals intended for later consumption must be frozen as advised.
-
Clients assume all responsibility once food leaves our control.
Transfer of title and risk occurs upon delivery to the Client’s designated address.
11. Limitation of Liability

The Chef Nextdoor is not responsible for improper storage, reheating, or misuse of food.

Liability for allergic reactions is limited and applies only when complete and accurate disclosure has been provided.

Liability for defective products is limited to replacement, re-performance, refund, or credit, at our discretion.
12. Website & Service Disclaimer

We do not guarantee that our website or services will be error-free or uninterrupted.

All information on the site is subject to change without notice.

We cannot guarantee that files or data accessed through the site will be free of viruses or harmful components.
13. Photography & Marketing

The Chef Nextdoor may take photos or videos of food or events for marketing purposes.

Client identities will not be disclosed without consent.
14. Confidentiality

Client information is kept confidential and will not be shared except as required by law or with client consent.
15. Age Requirement

Clients must be 18 years of age or older to book services.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada.
17. Changes to These Terms
The Chef Nextdoor reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on this page.
